Quantum computing with realistically noisy devices

Article Abstract:

A simple architecture for fault-tolerant quantum computing, providing evidence that accurate quantum computing is possible for error probability per gates (EPGs) as high as three percent is reported. Assuming the availability of quantum resources comparable to the digital resources available in today's computers, it is shown that non-trivial quantum computations at EPGs of as high as one per cent could be implemented.

Quantum errors corrected

Article Abstract:

Quantum error correction is a central concept of quantum information science and itEs almost the only thing a quantum computer would need to do if it is to work properly. For this purpose Chiaverini and his team, which introduced an artificial error of known size, such that the probability of a spin-flip was p per atom, conducted an experiment.

Experimental purification of two-atom entanglement

Article Abstract:

Efficient and non-destructive entanglement purification with atomic quantum bits is reported. Two noisy entangled pairs are created and distilled into one higher-fidelity pair. Many applications of entanglement purification make it one of the most important techniques in quantum information processing.
