Regulation of CFTR chloride channels by syntaxin and Munc 18 isoforms

Article Abstract:

Genetics research demonstrates that the cyclic adenosine monophosphate-gated chloride channel (CFTR) created on cystic fibrosis gene expression is controlled by the membrane protein syntaxin 1A. Syntaxin and the syntaxin-binding protein Mucn18 isoform n-Sec1 work together in CFTR regulation. Evidence suggests that epithelial syntaxin 1 suppresses CFTR currents. Further research in this area may be of use in cystic fibrosis studies.

Functional interaction between InsP(sub3) receptors and store-operated Htrp3 channels

Article Abstract:

Htrp3 channels are shown to be expressed stably in HEK293 cells and have tight functional interactions with InsP(sub3) receptors. Ca(super2+) mobilization in intact cells can activate Htrp3 channels, and activation is lost on washing of excised patches, but can be restored with the addition of native or recombinant InsP(sub3) bound InsP(sub3) receptors.
