Relating atomic-scale electronic phenomena to wave-like quasiparticle states in superconducting Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 (sub +delta)

Article Abstract:

The Fourier transform studies of atomic-scale spatial modulations in the Bi-2212 density of states are presented. The momentum-space structure of the unoccupied states that are inaccessible to photoemission, and strong similarities to the structure of the occupied states are analyzed and discussed.

Crystallization of charge holes in the spin ladder of Sr(sub14)Cu(sub24)O(sub41)

Article Abstract:

The existence of a hole crystal in the doped spin ladder of Sr(sub14)Cu(sub24)O(sub41) using a resonant X-ray scattering technique is reported. This phase exists without any detectable distortion in the structural lattice, indicating that it arises from many-body electronic effects.

Evidence for ubiquitous strong electron-phonon coupling in high- temperature superconductors

Article Abstract:

Research describing electron dynamics for copper oxide superconductors is presented. In particular velocity and scattering rate are investigated by photoemission spectroscopy.
