Rocket man

Article Abstract:

Nadeem was one of the six former Iraqi weapons scientists came to Washington for meetings organized by the Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF), a small non-profit organization. The organization is devoted to keeping former weaponeers form Russia, Iraq and elsewhere in gainful employment by linking them with legitimate private in the West. Nadeem worked on the design of short-range surface-to-surface missiles, using whatever spare parts he could obtain and often building components.

Hospital closure puts tissue bank in jeopardy

Article Abstract:

Scientists and pathologists assembled to influence the fate of the largest tissue bank, the Walter Reed Center, which is without a home, following a a review panel decision to close the military hospital where it is based. Ultimately, the Department of Defense is going to decide the tissue bank's fate, although it appears that the bank is unlikely to be spared.
