Article Abstract:

The nations, which are part of the European Patent Office (EPO) in Munich dissatisfied with the extent to which the European office supplants national patent offices, suggest that the EPO's growing workload should be distributed to the national offices of its member states. It is believed that although the quality of EPO's work is good, political reasons are the motivation for the suggestion.

Virologists call for vaccination in bid to beat bird flu epidemic

Article Abstract:

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and other international bodies in Rome are working towards the introduction of vaccination of targeted poultry flocks to bring southeast Asia's epidemic of chicken flu under control. FAO officials are also working out the cost of vaccination, which would involve trained personnel to administer the cost of hundreds of millions of shots.

Conservers plead for funds to protect Europe's heritage

Europe has attracted more millions of tourists every year to enjoy its cultural heritage. The European Commission has funded programmes designed to analyse damage to cultural heritage and to prevent monitor and repair such harm.
