Sexual and seasonal differences in the diet of Lanyu Scops owls based on fecal analysis

Article Abstract:

The Lanyu scops owls are nocturnal insectivores that have larger females than males and rarely produce pellets, making the quantification of their diet difficult. Through a fecal analysis of the Lanyu scops, their diets were studied, thus verifying the reliability of the method on captive owls.

Proximate cues for a short-distance migratory species: an application of survival analysis

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to determine the relevance of external factors on the timing of the migration of birds. Results showed that no specific indication was found relevant to food availability that affected migration but the phases of the moon affected migration patterns.

Inferring breeding success through radiotelemetry in the marbled murrelet

Article Abstract:

The measures for breeding success were inferred using radiotelemetry in the marbled murrelet forest-nesting seabird. The study suggests that behavior-based activity performed at different reproductive stages did not differ between confirmed and suspected nest sites.
