Silicon shines on

Article Abstract:

The incident light is converted to light of different wavelength by making use of making use of specific, nonlinear properties of a material. The nonlinear optics that has incident light is changed to the light of another wavelength with the help of the distinct nonlinear properties of a material.

Desperately seeking silicon

Article Abstract:

The various efforts that are being taken by the scientists for using silicon as a thermoelectric material to convert heat into electricity are discussed. The analysis also shows that silicon can be a highly efficient source of energy, as it is cheap and is readily available.

Enhanced thermoelectric performance of rough silicon nanowires

Article Abstract:

A new approach for an electrochemical synthesis of large-area arrays of rough silicon (Si) nanowires is discussed. These nanowires are found to exhibit excellent thermoelectric performance and high Seebeck coefficient.
