Snow maker for the ice ages
Article Abstract:
Recently, large-scale glaciation was initiated in the Northern Hemisphere which seemed to be a seasonal warming of the sea surface in an upwind oceanic region. According to earth scientists the overall climate cooling is associated with decreasing levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the ice sheets can grow only if sufficient moisture is available and the winter snow survives the summer heat.

Collapse and rapid resumption of Atlantic meridional circulation linked to deglacial climate changes
Article Abstract:
The measurements of 231Pa/230Th, a kinetic proxy for the meridional overturning circulation, in a sediment core from the subtropical North Atlantic Ocean are studied. The results confirm the significance of variations in the rate of the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation for abrupt climate changes.

A record of low-latitude sea surface temperature that is in phase with the forty-one thousand rhythm reminiscent of high-latitude insolation, is provided. This record represents only a small portion of Earth's history.
