Space use and habitat selection by female Louisiana black bears in the Tensas River Basin of Louisiana

Article Abstract:

Space use and habitat selection for female Louisiana black bears in 2 subpopulations (Tensas and Deltic) of the Tensas River Basin population in northeast Louisiana, USA, were documented. Deltic females were found to select mature bottomland hardwood forests, and Tensas females were found to select a mixture of swamps and forests, and showed variations in selection across scale, season, and reproductive status.
