Stomach rinsing in rays

Article Abstract:

The thornback ray Raja clavata is able to 'rinse' its stomach by full gastric eversion. This may be a common way for fish to remove noxious material from the stomach. The oral eversion of the stomach is not hampered by mesenteric attachments of the gut to the body wall.

Scaling laws of marine predator search behaviour

Article Abstract:

Research conducted to explain the scaling laws associated with the marine predator search behaviour is presented. The marine predators are found to exhibit Levy-walk-like behaviour that gives rise to several fractal movement trajectories.
