T-cell adhesion induced by proteoglycan-immobilized cytokine MIP-1 beta

Article Abstract:

Macrophage inflammatory protein-1 beta (MIP) is a cytokine which induces both chemotaxis and the adhesion of T cells to endothelium and is probably important in extravasation of leukocytes, the first stage of inflammatory response. MIP is present on lymph node endothelium and has been shown to induce T cell binding in vitro to vascular cell adhesion molecules in its immobilized form. MIP was immobilized by binding to a proteoglycan. It is suggested that immobilization takes place in vivo by endothelial proteoglycans.

The candidate oncoprotein Bcl-3 is an antagonist of p50/NF-kappa-B-mediated inhibition

Article Abstract:

The oncoprotein Bcl-3 assists kappa-B site-dependent genetic transcription in vivo by negating the inhibition of NF-kappa-B activity by p50/NF-kappa-B homodimers. Bcl-3, which is linked to the oncogene bcl-3 that may cause some cases of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia, probably helps to stimulate the selection of NF-kappa-B-regulated genes including the genes controlling the human immunodeficiency virus.

Barriers come down

Article Abstract:

The role of protein in brain signaling is examined in detail. Erythropoieten is a protein which appears to be important in brain injuries, since it may help prevent cells from dying.
