The anti-inflammatory agents aspirin and salicylate inhibit the activity of IKB kinase-Beta

Article Abstract:

Aspirin, sodium salicylate and indomethacin have anti-inflammatory effects and can also inhibit the NF-KB pathway involved in the pathogenesis of the inflammatory response. A study undertook to find cellular targets that regulate NF-KB and could be inhibited by the anti-inflammatory agents. IKK-Beta was identified as a target for sodium salicylate and aspirin, and this should aid the design of agents that can more effectively inhibit the inflammatory response.

Histone H3 phosphorylation by IKK-alpha is critical for cytokine-induced gene expression

Article Abstract:

The new nuclear role of IKK-alpha in modifying histone function that is critical for the activation of NF-kB-directed gene expression is examined. The cells and reagents for the gene expression are analyzed.

A nucleosomal function for IkB kinase-alpha in NF-kB-dependent gana expression

Article Abstract:

The additional insight into the role of the IKK complex in NF-kB-regulated gene expression is examined. The IKK-alpha's after sulphur exposure acts as a nuclear function for protein.
