The application of IUCN red list criteria at regional levels

Article Abstract:

The World Conservation Union (IUCN) under the auspices of Species Survival Commission (SSC) started a process of revising the Red List to improve the objectivity and repeatability of the assessment process and to develop quantitative criteria that assign species to categories based on their relative extinction risk. The IUCN is keen on developing such listings, which are linked to actions at the national level that provide global listing and action process with valuable information.
