The flap over the woolly flying squirrel
Article Abstract:
The woolly flying squirrel, Eupetarus cinereus, about the size of a beagle and thought to be extinct since the last sighting in 1924, was rediscovered in the mountains of Pakistan 1994 and again in 1996. The difficult terrain of the squirrel's home where the Himalaya, Karakoram and the Hindu Kush mountain ranges meet makes the school difficult to locate.

To Burton and back: The history of exploration in conservation
Article Abstract:
The Wildlife Conservation Society has a long history of scientific exploration, dating back to 1897, when the society engaged Andrew Jackson Stone to survey the wildlife of Alaska. The purpose of exploration has changed since then to save the newly discovered before they disappear forever, as compared to the initial purpose of discovery and description.
