Article Abstract:

A research on the sounds made for communication during summer by the marine animals at night is being funded by US Navy and studied by many biologists as a model for understanding the complex human communication system. The humming sound of the midshipman to attract the female, the clicking sound of pistol shrimp to find each other, the discharge of the electric signals by the electric knifefish in courtship and the thumping of jacks hunting wrasses are a few of the sounds made by marine life.
