Three-dimensional magnetic field topology in a region of solar coronal heating

Article Abstract:

Research indicates the magnetic fields from the active regions on the Sun consist of a set of rising magnetic loops and a tangential discontinuity of the magnetic field direction. Data suggest that the latter represents an electric current sheet that is involved in coronal heating.

Unusual activity of the sun during recent decades compared to the previous 11,000 years

Article Abstract:

A reconstruction of the sunspot number covering the last 11,400 years based on dendrochronologically dated radiocarbon concentrations is reported. Physics-based models are combined for each of the processes connecting the radiocarbon concentration with sun-spot number.
