Three key residues form a critical contact network in a protein folding transition state

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the use of mutation measurements in a Monte Carlo sampling procedure to determine the rate of folding of proteins in the transition state. The nucleation mechanism is discussed.

Simultaneous determination of protein structure and dynamics

Article Abstract:

A protocol for the experimental determination of ensembles of protein conformations that represent simultaneously the native structure and its associated dynamics is described. The procedure combines the strengths of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, which obtains experimental information at the atomic level about the structural and dynamical features of proteins, with the ability of molecular dynamics simulations to find a wide range of protein conformations.

More charges against aggregation

Article Abstract:

Scientists have shown that functional proteins can be designed with high electrostatic charge that turn out to be far more soluble in water than their naturally occurring analogues.
