A systems biology analysis of the Drosophila phagosome

Article Abstract:

A systems biology analysis of phagosomes isolated from cells derived from the genetically tractable model organism Drosophila melanogaster is presented. The systems-based model can be used in studying human phagocytosis along with the host-pathogen interaction and other aspects of innate and adaptive immunity.

Drosophila miR2 induces pseudo-polysomes and inhibits translation initiation

Article Abstract:

The development of a cell-free system from Drosophila melanogaster embryos that recapitulates miR2-mediated translational control by means of the 3' untranslated region of the Drosophila melanogaster reaper messenger RNA is presented.
