Unusual twentieth-century summer warmth in a 1,000-year temperature record from Siberia

Article Abstract:

A tree-ring based reconstruction of mean summer temperatures over the northern Urals since AD 914 shows that the mean temperature of the twentieth century (1901-90) is higher than during any similar period since AD 914. The reconstruction technique involves wood densitometry on both living and sub-fossil trees to give maximum-latewood-density and ring-width time series. Relationships between tree growth and regional temperatures are calculated using correlation and regression statistical techniques. This temperature data supports anthropogenically induced warming predictions.

Attribution of observed surface humidity changes to human influence

Article Abstract:

Several researches are conducted to explain the different causes of the observed changes in surface humidity. The findings show that human influence is the major reason behind the global increase of the surface specific humidity.
