Vacuum Rabi splitting with a single quantum dot in a photonic crystal nanocavity

Article Abstract:

The experimental realization of a strongly coupled system in the solid state that is a single quantum dot embedded in the spacer of a nanocavity is reported. It is shown that vacuum-field Rabi splitting exceeds the decoherence linewidths of both the nanocavity and the quantum dot.

A three-dimensional optical photonic crystal with designed point defects

Article Abstract:

The fabrication of 3D photonic crystals with the help of a lithographic layer-by-layer approach is presented. Point-defect microavities are introduced during the fabrication process and optical measurements show they have resonant signature around telecommunications wavelengths
