Viral infection swithces non-plasmacytoid dendritic cells into high interferon producers

Article Abstract:

Plasmacytoid dendritic cells are thought to be the major source of the cytokines in vivo, which make high levels of IFN-I in response to viral infection. It is stated that conventional non-plasmacytoid dendritic cells taken from mice choriomeningitis virus make similarly high levels of IFN-I on subsequent culture.

Cascade into clarity

Article Abstract:

The article explains the functions of Akirins, the genes of a single cascade that host responses in various insects and mice. The findings show that Akirins also helps in regulating the [beta]-catenin transcription factor as well.
