Get a job!
Article Abstract:
Career possibilities in desktop publishing are rapidly increasing. People reading the newspaper classified ads for job opportunities should look under such categories as writer, designer, artist, marketing, or production. A successful candidate wanting a job in desktop publishing has skills in design, typography, computer-related systems, production, and client interaction. Jobs can be found in traditional printing and typesetting companies; with firms publishing commercial, trade, and professional newsletters; and with corporations of every type from design firms to bank management consultants. Salaries usually start at about $18,000 to $20,000 for a skilled beginner. The job market shows that the skills of the computer specialist and the graphic artist are meeting and blending together.

Spot spraying
Article Abstract:
The Detectspray system offers an alternative solution to weed control. It avoids the environmental and financial problems encountered in pesticide and cultivation-based control methods. The system is microprocessor-controlled. It analyzes the spectral characteristics of green plants and uses irradiance in order to selectively spray only weeds and dead plants. However, Detectspray also experiences minor problems such as spray boom instability and false activation. Nevertheless, the system has already been tested commercially and has been proven to be an effective means of weed control.

To pry or not to pry: how low should the media stoop to uncover politicians' private lives
Article Abstract:
Cold war blackmail potential can no longer be a reason to avoid prying. Politicians, journalists and voters all basically relish an opponent's scandals. The majority of journalists agree, however, that the state of the president's health is something that should always be openly discussed.
