Harvest of skulls & bones
Article Abstract:
Archaeologists have discovered a cave in northeastern Honduras which houses an ancient burial chamber. Bones which date back 3000 years have been preserved in these chambers. The humidity in the caves, due to the presence of a Talgua river stream in the cave, has reduced some of the deposits to bone mush. Twenty-three remains of human skeletons have been recovered from the site. Historical facts about the inhabitants of this region can be determined by examining the bones.

Multifunctional peptide synthetases
Article Abstract:
Peptide biosynthesis proceeds via complex ribosomal mechanisms involving RNA molecules, or in a RNA-independent mode on peptide synthetases. An update of the current understanding of enzymatic peptide-forming systems is presented, as well as their use as synthetic tools. The thiotemplate mechanism is described and the modular structure of peptide synthetases are discussed.
