First flowers: the winter garden at Winterthur

The earliest spring flowers in the Winterthur Garden are best seen in March, when these cover a three-acre hillside at the vast du Pont estate in Delaware. One of the great gardens of the 20th century, the Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library welcome more than 100,000 visitors yearly.

Dundee's dispute: Timex
Article Abstract:
A labor dispute has resulted in injuries and arrests in the wake of the firing of striking employees at a Timex plant. Strikers were replaced with new workers. New management in 1990 imposed cutbacks on the once-peaceful factory.
