Article Abstract:

David Ling Architects transformed a suburban condominium unit in New Jersey into a place where modernism exists harmoniously with artwork. With instructions to downsize with grace, David Ling chose to adhere to the minimalist aesthetic by expanding the public space and making it more transparent, while using strong design themes, simple materials and subtle lighting. The architectural firm also based their work on the instruction that exhibition space and ample room should be provided for the owners' art collection and frequent partying.

Article Abstract:

Unification is the underlying concept behind The Hillier Group's design of the headquarters of accounting firm Deloitte & Touche in New York, NY. The year-long project was undertaken by the Philadelphia, PA, and New York offices of the design firm. Space saving was accomplished with modular furniture, which provided a wide choice of styles and finishes. The reduced office size enabled allocation for more public spaces, such as a health club. Secretaries' workstations were also repositioned to make them a production unit.
