Form and innovation: The furniture of Eero Saarinen
Article Abstract:
Eero Saarinen is most noted for his design of chairs, especially the Grasshopper chair, the Womb chair, and Pedestal chair. He balanced art and technology in his furniture designs which improved the form and production of 20th-century modernist furniture and his innovative use of compound molded plywood and his first use of plastic in a mass-produced chair qualify him as a leader in 20th-century furniture design.

Il Cosmo Driade
Article Abstract:
An exhibition titled "Il Cosmo Driade" would be held from January 28, 2007, at the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich, Germany. Some of the exhibits would include the Italian firm Driade's collection of cutlery, glass, kitchens and furniture, which are works of designers such as Philippe Starck, Boris Sipek, Tokujin Yoshioka and Antonia Astori.
