Cell wall and secreted proteins of Candida albicans: Identification, function, and expression
Article Abstract:
Candida albicans fungus normally has a commensal relationship with the host, but this can turn into a parasitic relationship, leading to infection, called candidiasis. Various studies have supported a hypothetical set of virulence factors for C. albicans, and the cell wall is well established as an essential aspect in the biology and pathogenicity of C. albicans. The cell wall protein composition and organization and its interactions with the host are reviewed.

Evolving concepts in plant glycolysis: Two centuries of progress
Article Abstract:
Glycolysis occurs in living cells and the enzymes of glycolysis enable cell-free extract to undertake fermentation of zymasis. The development of major concepts in plant glycolysis form the early nineteenth century to the present day is traced, citing initial discoveries which were aimed at documenting the process in plants and comparing it to yeast and muscle pathways.
