Haldane, Marxism, and the conduct of research
Article Abstract:
Questions regarding the effect of ideology on the scientific work of Jon Burdon Sanderson Haldane with his conversion to communism is discussed. Politically biased value judgements and an enumeration of his research output throughout his career were used to determine the qualitative and quantitative effects of Marxism to his scientific queries and procedures. Haldane's claims regarding the value of conscious Marxism was assessed to be unfounded.
