The biochemically and immunologically distinct CSPG of notochord is a product of the aggrecan gene
Article Abstract:
The chondroitin sulphate proteoglycan (CSPG) core protein in the notochord of chick embryos is a product of the aggrecan gene. This CSPG appears before chondrogenesis, during neural crest migration and through the differentiation of sclerotomal tissue. This CSPG is different from CSPG from the cartilage aggrecan. Cartilage aggrecan contains keratin sulphate and notochord CSPG has none. Notochord CSPG contains HNK-1 epitope and cartilage aggrecan CSGP has none. However, the two CSGPs share essentially the same core proteins and share a similar mutation, so they must originate form the cartilage aggrecan gene.

Light and developmental regulation of the gene con-10 of Neurospora crassa
Article Abstract:
Transformation and homologous recombination help integrate a translational fusion of con-10 with Escherichia coli lacZ at the his 3 locus of Neurospora crassa. Experimental studies on these constructs help identify genetic segments essential for normal light and developmental expression of con-10. Maximum con-10 expression requires two copies of a 17-bp enhancer sequences and binding is observed between the protein associated with the extracts of vegetative mycelia and conidia with this enhancer sequence.
