Australian mining companies are not keeping pace with the potential prospects in the Broken Hill region, according to consulting geologist Wolfgang Leyh. Leyh, who has studied this region for over 25 years, believes the exploring companies will find a world class mineral deposit by the year 2000. Geological data of the region is updated on a regular basis.

Ernest Henry-style find west of the Hill; the little-known White Dam is a hot prospect in Australia's hottest exploration region

Article Abstract:

A new copper-gold discovery is alleged to have taken place in mid-1997 approximately 100 kilometers west of Broken Hill. This region is the most popular exploration region in Australia. The venture is operated by MIM, Normandy Mining and Aberfoyle. Drilling has been shallow but with enough frequency to determine the value of the deposit.

'Big brothers' give mining juniors a leg-up

Article Abstract:

Large mining companies and small mining companies are establishing alliances to decrease operating costs. This strategy could increase the value of each company's stock in the long-term. Large companies are decreasing their exploration budgets and their staff while obtaining these services through alliances with small mining companies.
