A job for China
Article Abstract:
China can enhance its status as a global power by taking a leadership role in the effort to curtail the spread of nuclear weapons in Asia. In particular, Chinese policymakers should convince the recalcitrant North Koreans to abide by the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

China is now claiming nearly all of the South China Sea archipelago, in apparent violation long-standing international law; ironically, it also became a Law of the Sea signatory on May 15. The moves renewed regional fears of Chinese military adventurism.
