ABN Amro to cut 2,850 jobs in bid to beef up profit

Article Abstract:

While investment banks in the United States are benefiting from a series of lucrative merger and acquisition deals, European banks such as ABN AMRO Holding N.V., Deutsche Bank AG, and the Credit Suisse Group, are aiming to boost lagging profitability through job cuts and financial restructuring. Though the European banks are eventually expected to benefit from the current surge in merger and acquisition activity, securities analysts have been pleased to see the management decisions currently being undertaken.
