Ambulance service criticised

Article Abstract:

Merseyside Ambulance Service's chief executive received heavy criticisms from UK's Royal Air Force (RAF) for his obtrusive action in an emergency situation in May 1999. The RAF reports that the refusal of the head of the regional ambulance service to permit a Bond Helicopters SA365N to be used to transfer a patient suffering from a liver failure has resulted in the death of the said patient.

Battle of the queens

Article Abstract:

Cowfighting is a traditional spectator sport in the Swiss canton of Valais. The cattle used in cowfighting belong to the Herens stock, a cattle breed known for its superior milk, meat and fighting spirit. The cowfight festivals, which start in March and ends in October, are arranged as regional contests. The cows fight because of their innate need to establish a hierarchy in their herds.

The influence of supportive leadership and job characteristics on work alienation: a six-country investigation

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to investigate the relationships between job characteristics and supportive leadership and workers' alienation in Cuba, Germany, Israel, Russia, Hungary, and the United States. A total of 1,933 workers and non-managerial personnel participated in the study. Findings show a relationship between supportive leadership and job characteristics and work alienation.
