Cyprus' bid to join the European Union (EU) seems to be increasing tensions between Greeks and Turks in Cyprus instead of helping reconcile differences, as the EU had hoped. There are fears that the question of admitting a divided Cyprus could threaten the whole process of EU enlargement.
