Cycles of trust and distrust in joint-ventures
Article Abstract:
Joint-ventures are based on trust, as can be seen by the structured analysis of key variables in terms of interdependency patterns, endogenous competition and the ambiguity of the joint-venture's activity and objectives. Trust operates on personal and procedural terms. All parts of the operation, from senior management down to the operating level of the business, need to develop a trusting relationship. Some relationships start and continue on trust, while others end up in distrust.
