Sweden now accounts for nearly 7% of Danish food exports, compared with about 2% before Sweden's EU entry. Pork accounts for a major part of the exports; in the eight-month period January-August 1999, pork exports totaled 35,700 tonnes, which corresponds to a value of DKr 677mn, up from 32,300 tonnes in the same period of 1998.
