Article Abstract:

The minimum wage hike of 70 cents did not affect Baton Rouge greatly because there is a high demand and low supply of workers in the area. Employers are pressured to pay more because of the labor shortage in Baton Rogue. The effects of the mimimum wage increase on small businesses are discussed.
