Temple to keep 4 hospitals open by consolidation

Philadelphia, Penn.-based Temple University Health System has announced an $18 million consolidation plan that will allow North Philadelphia hospitals to remain open. Temple, which employs 10,000 workers in a seven-hospital network, is the largest provider of Medicaid services in Pennsylvania.

Doctors' proposal gets nod at MCP

Sen. Arlen Specter and Gov. Rendell together in Philadelphia, stated that a group of doctors be allowed to take control and run Medical college of Pennsylvania hospital (MCP) as a full-service hospital. Rendell stated that the doctors' plan would not cost the state any extra money, and due to this reason, he was approving the doctors proposal over the bidders, Drexel and Temple.
