Dennis P. Bouey, Philadelphia International Airport's aviation director, is leaving his position this week. Bouey is leaving behind some improvements. Changes to the airport include an increase in the amount of airport employees and air travelers; completion of the B-C Terminal project; installation of sculpture; additional paintings and other artwork in the terminals; improvements on a new $221 million runway for commuter-airline and corporate jets, scheduled to be finished at the end of the year; and preparations to begin a $500 million project in April, intended to add two terminals.

Chicago suburbs oppose airport's expansion plans
Article Abstract:
Chicago's O'Hare International, which is world's busiest airport, is planning for the expansion of runaways, which would point three runways at the heart of Elk Grove Village's residential section heightening concerns about safety and quality of life. This expansion deal of $6.6 billion was opposed by the mayors of the suburbs who stood to lose property to the project. Details regarding the project benefits are discussed.

Charles J. Isdell, the new chief of the Philadelphia International Airport, has previously served as interim chief three times. The airport, which is the 20th-largest airport in the United States, reported 25 million travelers in 2000.
