Aydin sues 9 who began rival firm
Article Abstract:
Aydin Corp. has filed a law suit accusing former employees of engaging in illegal activities as part of efforts to form a competing company. Aydin designs and manufacturers communications systems for commercial and military uses. The company being sued is Teletronics Technology Corp. (Huntingdon Valley, PA). The lawsuit was filed in Montgomery Country Common Pleas Court. Attached to the papers was a Memorandum of Agreement that was found on a computer used by one of the nine. The document lays out plans that effectively insured that information from Aydin would be available to Teletronics, even while employees were leaving according to a planned schedule.

Sun to charter two supertankers considered safer, more efficient
Article Abstract:
Sun Co. (Philadelphia, PA) chartered two very large crude carriers from Concordia Maritime AG of Sweden. These tankers will be built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea. No price was mentioned for the deal. The tankers are expected to be in operation in the second quarter of 2001. The tankers can carry 40 million gallons of crude oil. The tankers are designed to be lighter, faster, and have a shallower draft than tankers currently used by Sun Co. Also, the tankers have two engines and engine rooms, and a double hulled construction. All these features will improve transportation, and reduce potential oil spills.
