Revenue down, but profit up at Unisys

Unisys Corp., a Bluebell computer and services firm, posted a 22% increase in its net income, earning $106.5 million. Revenue dropped to at least 8% to $1.67 billion.

Unisys backs state SciTech internships
Article Abstract:
Unisys is offering internships to students in the states' SciTech scholarship program. The SciTech program is aimed at keeping science and technology students from leaving the state after graduation. Hi-tech companies such as, Unisys, say that they hire a majority of their employees from out of state. Gov. Ridge hopes this program, which offers scholarships to science and technology students in exchange for working in the state will keep talent from leaving the state.

Franklin Electronic Publishers warns of loss
Article Abstract:
Burlington based Franklin Electronic Publishers warned of fourth quarter and fiscal 1999 losses. The company's stock on the New York Stock Exchange fell 13 percent to $5.44 a share. The losses came from noncash charges and other nonrecurring losses. The company makes electronic organizers, books and reference products.
