AAA stated that the Gasoline prices reached a record high in March 2004 in the United States and is expected to rise further as the fuel season approaches. Several factors have put pressure on crude oil and gasoline prices, including lower production by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, low gasoline stocks in US, a strong economy leading to higher consumption, and a seasonal transition at refineries.
