Google 'pops' 18% on first trading day

The initial public offering raised $1.67 billion for Google Inc., that operates the Internet's most popular search engine and its share rose 18% to close at $100.34 on 19 August, 2004, a first-day 'pop'. The investors were not expecting this first day trade but the co-founders of Google, Larry Page and Sergey Brin have made millions because of the initial public offerings.
