Guitar maker bradens its line: Basic models added to combat flat sales
Article Abstract:
C.F. Martin and Company, the 165 year old acoustic guitar maker, has introduced a new line of less ornate guitars. The DXM guitars cost $600 rather than the $2,000 low-end price of the company's traditional models. Christian F. Martin 4th, chariman and CEO, does not want his company's products to be known as the guitars of rich doctors and is confident that the new line will be successful because of the company's reputation.
