AHERF, its creditors both happy with 'partner' plan
Article Abstract:
Allegheny Health Education and Research Foundation (AHERF) and its creditors have affirmed their confidence in the plan of Allegheny General Hospital (AGH), the foundation's North Side flagship, to seek a partner. It is maintained that the "partner" plan of AGH is aimed at raising funds for vendors and lendors who are smarting about the meager payments they hope to get for the $1.5 billion in debts owned to them by AHERF, its Eastern Pennsylvania hospitals and Allegheny University of the Health Sciences, its academic hub.

AHERF lays off 72 case managers
Article Abstract:
AHERF, the parent foundation of Allegheny General Hospital, plans to remove 72 workers, majority of whom are care managers, from its offices in Foster Plaza in Pennsylvania. The proposed layoffs are to be implemented as AHERF closes its operation for managing fixed-price medical-case contracts with HealthAmerica. The 72 employees to be laid off from AHERF's Foster Plaza operations are the first area workers to be directly affected by the filing for bankruptcy made by AHERF.
