Key to LSSi's venture capital? Communication
Article Abstract:
Listing Services Solutions Inc.'s (LSSi) database has 130 million listings around the US for the $2.3 billion directory-assistance market. LSSi directly purchases information directory companies and local telephone firms, rather than depend on data from marketing firms and credit reports. Information directory and local phone companies offer updated information on a daily basis. Directory-assistance firms consequently purchase database access so that they can offer callers accurate information. LSSi has bought 10 million new listings and 16 new phone company clients between April 1998 and has received $12.3 million in venture-capital investments.
