Local firm connects to the heartland via satellite TV
Article Abstract:
Pegasus Communications Corp. is ranked the largest independent provider of direct broadcast satellite television programming from DirecTV with 345,000 subscribers in the US. The company, a sales, marketing and service division of DirecTV, has customers in 36 states with plans to add ten more to its roster. Pegasus is expected to see further growth as the direct broadcast satellite TV, which is currently more popular in rural areas, is projected to be used in 15 million houses within two years. Pegasus president, CEO and chairman Marshall W. Pagon said the goal of the firm is to become the largest and most successful distributor of satellite programming in 30 million homes in rural areas of the US.
