Penn professor is picked to head Philadelphia Fed

Anthony M. Santomero, a professor of finance at the University of Pennsylvania, has been selected as the new head of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Mr. Santomero, who will replace outgoing Fed chief Edward Boehne, also is the director of the Wharton Financial Institutions Center.

Reliance Insurance Co.'s former chairman, Saul Steinberg's removal of company funds to himself is being investigated by the Pennsylvania Insurance Department. The company collapsed during the Spring of 2001.
