Wilson & Wilson Temporary Employment Inc. has experienced tremendous growth in its three years of existence as a temporary-services firm. The firm, founded in 1995 by businesswoman Gwendolyn Wilson, has not only outgrown its tiny office on the 10th floor of 1314 Chestnut St. in Philadelphia, PA, but has also increased its revenues from $30,000 in its first year, to $1million in the second year. In addition, Wilson & Wilson, has also established new offices in Woodbury and Newark, NJ. Owner Wilson attributes the firm's success to hard work and perseverance.

Bryn Mawr firm sees big business in small business

Alpha Capital Corp. of Bryn Mawr, PA, is attempting to develop an investment fund valued at $10 million by setting up the Vintage Investment Partners small business investment firm. The company's partner Ian Michel indicated that this new company would target low-technology firms, pending approval of its license by the SBA. There are already 110 small business investment companies in the US since 1994. However, the Small Business Administration and Congress made initiatives to adjust the small business investment company program in the 1990s.

It's been a colorful century at M.A.B

Philadelphia, Penn.-based M.A. Bruder and Sons Inc., a 100-year-old paint manufacturing and retailing firm, has partnered with San Carlos, Calif.-based Kelly-Moore Paint Co. The partnership deal, which will allow both companies to seek national contracts, calls for Kelly-Moore to supply paint on the West Coast while M.A.B. will supply paint on the East Coast. The American Institute of Architects' MasterSpec Finishes directory will list both firms as a result of the partnership agreement.
