Unusual ads mirror the makeover of Unisys
Article Abstract:
Unisys Corp., a computer company, has launched a new $20-million advertising campaign. The campaign will use the television and print media, featuring computer-monitor-headed people who cannot help but think about their clients' network problems. The ads are created by the advertising agency Bozell Worldwide. The campaign is presented with the challenge of offering to clients Unisys' expensive, highly technical computer network services. The ads use young actors, to account for the relative novelty of the computer industry and young people's influence on companies' older decision-makers in matters concerning information technology.

A new Herr set to hawk potato chips
Article Abstract:
Herr Foods Inc. is investing $4 million to create a new series of television commercials starring the founder Jim Herr's son and Herr Foods vice president Ed Herr who will market the company's potato chips. This is a departure from previous campaigns which had used Jim Herr as spokesman for the past four years. The snack food company will remain in the Herr family even after Jim Herr retires, indicated Ed Herr. However, Virginia Commonwealth University director Diane Cook-Tench noted that Ed Herr's presence in the promotion does not guarantee success.
